Did you ever spend an entire summer caring about your health? Well...the G2 Wellness journey was designed exactly for that. To encourage you to spend time thinking about your wellbeing and provide you the perfect tools to do so.
Our first stop was on June 15th with an Office Ergonomics seminar. You know how tiring it could get to sit at your desk the entire day, so our goal was to reduce stress and disorders associated with the overuse of muscles, bad posture, and repeated tasks.
The 2nd stop was a bit more glamorous. Irina Markovits walked us through some simple tips and tricks on how we should match our outfits according to our style. I personally believe that our wardrobe is a piece of art waiting to be put together. It’s a good thing that we have our office in a shopping mall. Inspiration is everywhere!
After leaving the glam world of fashion it was time to find a little balance. One could say it is one of the most difficult quests in our lives…to find time for everything. However, by attending this seminar, I discovered that Work-Life Balance does not mean an equal balance. Trying to schedule an equal number of hours for each of your various work and personal activities is usually unrewarding and unrealistic. Life is and should be more fluid than that.
Your best individual work-life balance will vary over time, often on a daily basis. The right balance for you today will probably be different for you tomorrow. There is no perfect, one-size fits all, balance you should be striving for. The best work-life balance is different for each of us because we all have different priorities and different lives.
Of course, in between our destinations, we had some real fun pit-stops. Smoothie bike, where we got to pedal on a bike to make a delicious smoothie, and of course, what could be more delightful than an ice cream day in hot summer afternoon. Smoothies and ice cream in the office.... where do I sign up?
We reached our destination in the last day of summer. We celebrated in very creative way, with a Painting Together Workshop. They say art is food for the soul. And trust me, it is! Painting provides a sanctuary for anyone. When you’re stressed, you can turn to painting to lose yourself in the brush strokes. The act of creating provides a soothing place for us to turn to, and the feeling of accomplishment from completing a project can help replace negative feelings about other things. And the best part of it, there is no need for talent to enjoy the benefits of painting.
